Anteel
Deterministic Space Combat
Anteel is a rules-light but tactically serious space wargame, which is completely diceless—in fact there are no randomizers of any kind, resulting in a game that is all about strategy, rather than luck.
There is record keeping but it's limited to the damage each ship has taken, and convenient fleet control sheets are provided. The rules are easy to learn, but to play well you'll have to plan several moves in advance, much like in Chess or other classic strategy games.
Gameplay is thus quick but nail-biting as you watch to see what plans your opponent will undo with an unexpected move.

You can download ship counters designed by Andrew Hodgson: print one sheet for each empire, using different colored paper (or color them with markers).
Alternately, Slawomir Ozog has created a set of geometic counters for each empire, based on their icons: circle, crescent, diamond, hour-glass and triangle.
